Trademark Agency
From clearance to registration certificate
A trademark application is a sequence of decisions, each of which affects the next. We handle the sequence end to end, and tell you the realistic prospects at every stage rather than only after a refusal arrives.
Scope of the service
- Pre-filing searches and registrability assessment across relevant classes
- Preparation and submission of applications, including multi-class filings
- Responses to examination opinions and provisional refusals
- Opposition, invalidation and non-use cancellation proceedings
- Recordal of assignment, licence and change of name or address
- Renewal reminders and portfolio maintenance
Class strategy
Choosing the right class is the single decision most often made badly. We map your current goods and services, plus the adjacent categories you are likely to enter within three years.
Distinctiveness
Names that describe the product are usually refused. Where a mark is weak, we say so before filing and propose alternatives.
Timeline
Statutory examination takes roughly four to six months. Where a faster route exists, we will explain the trade-off rather than promise a date.
Renewal is part of the service
A registration lasts ten years and can be renewed indefinitely, but only if someone tracks the deadline. Renewal monitoring is included for every mark we file.
